Fishnoodles! Photo Review

I am SUPER EXCITED about this review!  I hope you will enjoy it as well :)

Fishnoodles are one of my top 3 favorite diapers and hopefully this post will help you see why.

Fishnoodles are ultra-trim and super-absorbant all-in-one organic bamboo cloth diapers that are made in the USA.

They are side-snapping diapers, with a PUL outer, lined with soft bamboo viscose and have a luxurious snap-in bamboo terry soaker insert.  Fishnoodles are sized AIO’s, so you’re sure to get a perfect fit.

Small fits babies 7-16lbs with a rise up to 15″
Medium Fits babies 12-28lbs with a rise up to 17″
Large fits babies 24-35lbs with a rise up to 19″

They are available at as well as my favorite retailer,

Solid colors are $19.95 and prints are $21.95

I am trying a new approach to the photo review–I hope you like it!  Here is a gallery with lots of pictures you can flip through at your leisure that will allow you to see the fabulous Fishnoodle design!  The diaper featured is the “Love Hearts” prints and I love it!

Please note that it may take a moment or two for the gallery to load :)  To help the page load faster, the photos in the slideshows are smaller  and may not be super sharp.  If you would like to see larger, crisper images, all the photos in this post can also been seen in this gallery

As you can see, the diaper is very trim.  If you look at the side shot, you can see that there is no casing for the leg elastic–instead it is rolled.  I love this because it means no red marks on baby’s legs!

You’ll also notice that the back has elastic gathering which a)helps get a snug fit and b) keeps poo from escaping!

Finally, the back of the diaper is finished with serging–which I initially didn’t care for, but now I don’t mind it all–it’s what helps keep this diaper SO trim!!

To celebrate the BEAUTIFUL sunny weather we’ve been having, the action shots for this round were taken outside!  So, please excuse the bits of nature on J’s outfit and diaper :)  These pictures were taken on the day she figured out how to crawl.  Enjoy!

For reference, Jocie is 8 months old and just under 16lbs.  She is wearing a medium size Fishnoodle that we purchased from .  However, she still comfortably fits in size small Fishnoodles.

For all you mama’s who need to “eat & run”–the bottomline is–quit reading this blog and go buy this diaper!

For the rest of you, let me share with you why I love my “fishies.”

TRIM  This diaper is BAR NONE the trimmest diaper I have found.  As in, so trim no one will even suspect your precious little one is sporting a fluffy clothed bum!!   The secret is in the design.  The outer PUL is lined with super absorbent bamboo viscose and in the crotch area additional layers have been sewn in.  The terry soaker insert snaps in and is both lightweight AND thin.  The back is serged further reducing bulk and the side snaps finish it off giving the diaper an ultra smooth front.  Side snaps do take a little bit to get used to, but before you know it, it will be second nature.

ABSORBENT  Bamboo is one of nature’s most absorbent fibers, which means you need less of it to absorb the same amount of liquid!  Jocie can wear her Fishnoodles for naptime, errands, and road trips!  If you’ve got a super-soaker, you can purchase a hemp doubler and further increase the absorbency.

NATURAL  Because of the way Fishnoodles are constructed, only natural fibers touch baby’s skin.  For those of us with little ones who are sensitive to synthetic fibers, this is a major plus!

FIT  Fishnoodles are so supple and stretchy, getting a good fit is almost guaranteed (*not every diaper will fit every baby perfectly*).  Also, side snaps allow you to customize both the fit of the legs and the waist.  The rolled elastic leg is gentle on chubby babies and secure on skinny babies.  Fishnoodles are sized diapers (small, medium and large), so you are sure to get a perfectly trim fit.

PERFORMANCE  Awesome!  Fishnoodles are absorbent, trim fitting, and fast drying.  I have never had a problem with them wicking and we have yet to have a poopy blowout!

COST  I will admit, I hesitated to buy Fishnoodles for months because of the cost.  However, in my opinion, they are totally worth it!  My budget wouldn’t allow a complete stash of Fishnoodles, especially since I’d need to buy sizes (although the medium will fit babies from 12-28lbs which is basically 3 months to potty training in this  house), but I love to have a handful for times/outfits with a trimmer fitting diaper is preferable.  Another thing to keep in mind is that Fishnoodles hold their value VERY well.  An EUC (Excellent Used Condition) Fishnoodle will go for $15-$18, so even though this initial investment is high, you’ll get most of it back.

I hope you have enjoyed this review :)  Please feel free to post any questions you may have!

After reading your review on these I began looking to buy them. However, I can’t seem to find them. I’ve learned that FN makes Bright Star Babies but that the diapers are a bit different. Are they not making these anymore? Do you know where I can get some? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for stopping by :) I wrote the Fishnoodles review shortly before they were discontinued and replaced by the Bright Star Baby diapers.

I have several of the Bright Star Baby (BSB) aio’s and I really like them a lot. The cut(Fit) of the diapers is virtually the same, but the wings are a little longer so the same size can be worn for an extended age range. The soaker is now a soft bamboo fleece instead of the bamboo terry. They are still ultra-trim though~

If you have your heart set on Fishnoodles, they pop up every now and then on different diaper re-sale sites like diaperswappers, baby center’s cloth diaper swap board, or on Spot’s (part of Hyena Cart).

I love buying my new BSB’s from, or you can buy them directly from the bright star baby website as well!

I guess I need to do an updated review of the Bright Star Baby aio’s!

I'd love to hear your questions, comments and suggestions!
