Bum Genius 3.0 All In One vs. Bum Genius 4.0 One-Size Pocket Diaper SIZE Comparison

Have you ever wondered if the smallest rise on a Bum Genius 4.0 pocket diaper is really as small  as a Bum Genius 3.0 All-In-One diaper?  Or maybe you’ve contemplated whether or not you should get some XS AIO’s for the newborn stage…

So, if you’ve ever wondered how they compare, this post is for you!  Enjoy :)

For reference, here is the size chart for the AIO’s:

XS (Extra-Small) fits from 6-12 pounds. It is intended for a newborn and fits low, below the navel, to keep the umbilical area dry. This diaper is designed to fit during that itty-bitty newborn stage. The extra small diaper does not have a pocket opening.
S (Small) fits from 8-16 pounds. This diaper is slightly larger with a higher rise than the XS. It is intended for after your baby’s umbilical cord has fallen off.
M (Medium) fits from 15 – 22 pounds.
L (Large) fits from 22 – 30 pounds.

Bum Genius 4.0’s fit babies from 7-35lbs.

The pink (“blossom”) diaper is size XS, the pale yellow (“noodle”) is the BG 4.0

The green diaper (grasshopper) is size small, and the pale yellow is the BG 4.0 on the smallest rise setting.

The orange (clementine) diaper is a size medium and the pale yellow is the BG 4.0 on the largest rise setting.

The blue diaper (twilight) is a size large and the pale yellow is the BG 4.0 on the largest rise setting.

Love your site! May I have one little suggestion? Your photos are amazing, but the size is unnecessarily big. I’m browsing from my company that has ultrafast connection, faster than anything you can pay for, but it’s still close to impossible to scroll.

I downloaded one of your pics and saw that the size is 2MB. That explains it! You can export your photo to a lesser quality like around 400KB and still have the same dimension and details as a 2mb photo. It’ll only make a difference if you print it and blow it up to 20 x 20 haha!

Thanks for the suggestion! I’m trying to find a happy medium, because I want moms to be able to SEE details, but it really makes the post LONG and takes it a long time to load.

I’m super new to the whole blogging world, so if you have an idea, i’d love to hear it.

I’m thinking about putting the photos in a linked gallery and/or a flash player within the post.

Thanks so much! I will go back through and resize the pictures as I have time. I am super new to this and so I appreciate your input :)

    you’re so awesome.

  3. Love the photos. Do you find that the Bumgenius size medium and large are trimmer than the Bumgenius 4.0 with full size insert?

    • Anna says:

      Thanks :)

I felt like the medium aio was still slightly trimmer than the BG 4.0 at the medium setting. However at the largest rise setting, they seemed to be fairly similar. I couldn’t really tell much of a difference.

      Thanks for your comment!!
